    With a public game, your group arrives at your reserved game time, along with any other players who have also reserved that time. This ragtag collection of friends and strangers becomes your team for the next hour that work together in order to escape.
    Some say “two heads are better than one”, and a public game gives you the chance to expand your team’s brain power beyond what you and your original party bring to the table. Your team may benefit from the diversity of strengths.
    Others say “great minds think alike” and your team’s luck may run dry if your group of strangers can’t stay on the same page. Without any familiarity with each other, difficulties may arise amongst teammates, with those who know each other siding against those they don’t know.
Private
    As said above, in a private game, you’re armed only with the minds you bring to your game. The familiarity your team members share can make communication stronger and faster, or it can expose areas in your relationship that still need some work. Either way, your game can serve as an opportunity that forces you to put those minds together towards a common goal.
    You won’t have the wild card of strangers or a mix of age groups, but if you’re used to relying on this outsourcing for skills, this also means you’ll have to draft your team with diverse minds ahead of time.
